BBJ Honors Denise Korn as a Trailblazer

BBJ’S 2015 Leaders in Diversity Awards dubs
Denise Korn
a “Trailblazer” for her tremendous impact
on the Boston
business and community landscape

The Boston Business Journal launched the Diversity Awards in 2011 to highlight the game-changing work of companies and businesspeople who are leading the way in promoting inclusiveness and economic opportunity by advancing diversity in the workplace. This year, Korn Design’s own Denise Korn had the distinction of being honored as a “Trailblazer” – a fitting compliment considering a 12 year run dedicated to inspiring, mentoring and working with creative-minded, talented urban public high school students across Boston as the founder/executive director of Youth DesignIn the company of a fabulous group of like-minded friends that joined the October 20th awards breakfast at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, Denise was celebrated for her steadfast clarity in – and passion for – establishing solid bridges and meaningful connections between leadership of the “Design” sector and up-and-coming young talent with one goal in mind: to trigger the newly diverse, next-generation design workforce of the 21st century. Gale Murray, publisher of the BBJ, initiated this program to highlight select leaders’ exceptional commitment saying, “Diversity is not only important in business, it’s good for business. We applaud these individuals and companies for creating an inclusive and innovative workforce.” Shine on, DK!
