Korn Design developed a compelling new visual identity and signage system for Not Your Average Joe’s that conveys their unique casual dining experience. The new identity, with its interlocking frames, evokes the idea of fresh produce crates coming together—the base of a great meal prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients. Turning “Not” and “Average” on its side complements the quirky and playful personality of NYAJ’s while highlighting the message that each location is individual and truly “Your Joe’s”!
The earthy/natural color palette also recalls the farm fresh, local ingredients and is carried through into the eclectic and casual atmosphere at the restaurants. The first of the Not Your Average Joe’s 18 locations to unveil the reinvented brand and new design concept was in Gaithersburg, MD. Korn Design worked closely with Elkus Manfredi Architects of Boston to align all design elements in support of the complete dining experience.
